The referee opens one link on any tablet or phone — that's it. Score, substitutions, timeouts, libero — all digital, all synced live to the spectator scoreboard.
Try it free See all featuresLarge +1 buttons for each team. Optimized for quick taps between rallies — no tiny inputs, no accidental presses.
Track player substitutions with in/out numbers. Substitution count visible at all times. Undo available for input errors.
One-tap timeout button per team. Timeout count resets correctly per set following FIVB rules.
Mark libero substitutions separately from regular player changes. Libero position visible throughout the set.
Every point appears on the public results page and the stream overlay within one second. Simultaneous matches don't interfere with each other.
Made a mistake? One tap undoes the last point. Set score correction available for the director if needed.
The tournament director sends the referee a unique URL for their match. The referee opens it in Chrome, Safari or any other browser on a tablet or phone. The panel loads immediately — no App Store, no Google Play, no software to update.
This also means referees who didn't plan to use the system can be handed a tablet on the spot and start scoring within 30 seconds.
After creating the schedule in VolleyDesk, every match gets its own referee panel URL. The director shares them before the tournament starts — by WhatsApp, QR code on the referee table, or email.
On any tablet or phone. The panel shows team names, current score, set count and all control buttons. No login needed.
Tap the team that won the rally. The score increments. Set ends automatically at 25 (or 15 in the deciding set) with a win-by-2 check. New set starts with one tap.
Final score locks in, standings update on the public page, and the next match can begin. Zero paperwork.
Paper scoresheets have advantages — they work without any internet connection and provide an official record for protests. Many tournaments use VolleyDesk in parallel: the referee uses the digital panel for live scores, and a paper scoresheet as the official backup. The two are not mutually exclusive.
For informal tournaments, club leagues and school cups, the digital panel alone is usually sufficient.
What if the referee's tablet loses internet mid-match?
The panel stores the current score locally. Scoring continues offline. When the connection returns, the score syncs to the live page. For reliable connectivity in gyms with poor Wi-Fi, mobile data on the referee's phone or a dedicated hotspot works well.
Can I correct a score that was entered incorrectly?
Yes. The referee can undo the last point. For larger corrections, the tournament director has access to score correction tools in the management panel.
Does it follow FIVB scoring rules (25 points, win by 2, deciding set to 15)?
Yes. Set end logic follows standard volleyball rules: sets 1–4 end at 25 with win by 2, the deciding fifth set ends at 15 with win by 2.
Is there a coach or team view alongside the referee panel?
Yes. The coach panel is a separate panel — coaches see the live lineup, rotation and match state on their own phone without interfering with the referee.
